Yes I'm dreading a load of allies using captured MP44s. You know its going to happen because the '44 has a bigger hi-cap than the Thompson! :slap:

I'm hoping to get my MP44 down to a usuable level in time for lightning but I'll only bring it as a back up, my G33/40 will be my first choice.

Do you chaps think I should use my leather or canvas webbing for this game as I can't decide. I plan to go for full kit for at least some of the time complete with 'tropical' A frame and will be wearing tropical ankle boots. My water bottle is also know as the tropical type but saw more use in Russia. Would a tropical belt and y-straps mean too much tropical kit?

Bring 'em all, Neill! I wouldn't mind having a go with a K98 again. (I won't hit anything, mind... )

also, ive got the dot 44 tunic without epaletes, i think that just has SS collar badges and sleave eagle?? is that right ??????

Tony, leave it unbadged - the tunic was designed to be worn over grey's, but in warmer times, worn on their own.

Badged up Dot'44 was seen, but not very common - regulations didn't even include the arm eagle, but that was worn unofficially.

Depending on the weather, if I wear my DOT's there wont be any insignia on them, I'll have my Schirmmütze indicating Officer rank.

I got them second hand and have no idea where they came from. The closest I have found that look like them are the Zeugmeisterei one which fits with what the bloke said he paid for them.

Has no one got any opinions on my dilemma as I think I might go for my canvas ones as they're more comfortable?

It is quite authentic to have some tropical items in 1944. Follow your heart, Lardy. :)

Kit is looking excellent Andy. :good: You only taking one mag pouch out with you?

I know, I was just concerned about over doing the tropical aspect since I can do a near complete tropical uniform.

ive never seen canvas webbing so i can comment,

I should perhaps call it web rather than canvas as that is more accurate and you have seen it, both myself and Heide were wearing it at Autumn Mist.

Ja, I thought I'd use the P38 too. I'll keep two spare MP40 mags in the breadbag.
